Subject: Good animation, boring lecture
The first third of this anti-smoking short showed an entertaining animation (approx. 5 min). Then Dr. Boring started lecturing a group of old men about the evils of smoking cigarettes. The only part of his presentation that woke me up was when he put a nice furry white lab mouse to sleep with a drop of nicotine - very strange! It was almost as if he was looking forward to Tiny's ticker giving out.

Subject: The Euphemeral Snuff Film
Anti-Smoking film narrated by an alarmingly big faced doctor who we meet as a widow thanks him for taking care of him during his final days. The doctor blurts, "If only I can go out on the street and grab every cigarette out of people's mouth and say "Stop smoking you fool! You're killing yourselves!" The Chaplain hears this, and says "That was the strongest anti-smoking speech I've ever heard!" and summons the doctor to speak at the Veteran's hospital assembly.
At the assembly, the doctor says, "I know you're expecting some sort of variety show, apparently they couldn't make it, I'm here to fill in!" The doc then does an anti-smoking tyrade! He shows a film which is AMAZING, full of wild images, then veers off into Cannibal Holocaust territory when the good doctor KILLS A MOUSE to show what raw nicotine can do! Wow! Soon after the doc speaks, oh, everyone stops smoking.
The man playing the doctor is the most amazingly bad actor anywhere. A very odd movie.

I remember seeing this film back in high school during the 60's. What was presented then, still holds true now. A lot of folks out there still can't realize how dangerous the effects of nicotine can really do. Granted, it took the life of that mouse in the film in a hurry, yet the mouse was given a gram of pure nicotine and caused instant death, whereas the "cancer stick" only hold an extreme, minute portion of this deadly drug. If we were given a drop of nicotine as did this mouse, the effects would be just as bad, if not worse. This film is worth seeing.
